Adaptable Self-Sustaining Habitat — 15 m² / 2 Occupants
Earth-Pod is a self-sustaining habitat designed for two people and conceived to adapt to different environments and uses. The 15 m² movable unit combines compact living, 3D-printed clay construction, rainwater management and photovoltaic energy production within an autonomous architectural system. It can function as temporary accommodation, a permanent micro-home or a hospitality guesthouse.
Compact Spatial Strategy
Within a compact 15 m² footprint, Earth-Pod organizes the essential functions of everyday life vertically and efficiently. Living, kitchen and service spaces occupy the lower level, while working and sleeping functions are positioned above, allowing the pod to accommodate two occupants while minimizing circulation and unused space.
Program Distribution
The 15 m² interior is divided into four essential zones: a 6 m² working and sleeping area, a 4 m² kitchen and dining space, a 3 m² living area, and a compact 2 m² WC and shower core. This distribution concentrates the programme efficiently while preserving flexibility within the small footprint.
Autonomous Systems
Earth-Pod integrates water and energy systems directly into its architecture. The 3D-printed clay shell is designed to absorb and filter rainwater, which is collected and stored in the lower fiberglass component. A photovoltaic skylight provides daylight while producing and storing electricity, reducing the pod’s dependence on conventional infrastructure.
